As he greets those he considers part of his beating heart
He receives in return a couple responses, but the rest silence.
Realizing they are busy with their own lives, he understands
For he too has to focus on life outside of his online social circle.
Yet, when the time comes to come together to enjoy the gift of friendship
The feeling of not belonging starts to creep back into his mind.
To him, when he greets his peers, they respond with warm greetings in return
However, most of the time silence is returned, but he tries to just let it go.
What makes him happy is to see his friends happy with one another
But that doesn’t take away the sting of pain he feels when he is unnoticed.
The moon or a large fortune he does not seek, but just acceptance from his friends
That mind-numbing doubt just keeps chipping away at his self-confidence
Molding his mind to believe that his friends are really not there for him.
Manipulating his thoughts that they are there just to laugh at him for their amusement
Warping his emotional nerves, convincing him that they think of him as a loser.
Unfortunately for that doubt, he chooses to follow his own truth, that he is a true friend
But for now if has to come down to it, he shall endure a lonely heart until it is filled.
